Built by Readers,
for Readers
We were stuck at 5 books a year — just like you. We fixed it with accountability. Then we built a system so you can too.
We believe ambitious people deserve to read more.
IvyReader started as a simple question: why do the most ambitious people — the ones who buy the most books — struggle the most to finish them?
The answer isn't willpower. It's accountability. Ivy League institutions have known this for centuries: structured partnerships, regular check-ins, and community commitment produce results that individual motivation never can.
We built IvyReader to bring that same model to reading — because the best professional development investment you can make starts with finishing the books on your shelf.
The Story Behind IvyReader
Constantine Trubitski
Co-FounderColumbia Law. Built IvyReader to help ambitious readers finish more books.
From 5 Books a Year to 52 — and Then to Building a Company
In 2022, Constantine was a second-year law student at Columbia. Smart, ambitious, busy. He bought books constantly — but almost never finished them. Sound familiar?
That year, he read 5 books total. Five. He knew reading was the highest-ROI professional development he could do, and still couldn't execute.
The breakthrough came when he applied something he saw working in law school every day: structured accountability. Study groups. Weekly check-ins. Peer pressure that works.
“I didn't need another reading app. I needed someone who would notice when I stopped showing up.”
He paired up with a classmate. They checked in every Sunday. By the end of 2023, he'd read 52 books. The system worked so well that other students started asking for it. IvyReader was born.
Our Values
These aren't corporate posters — they're the principles we use to make every product decision.
Depth Over Volume
We’d rather you deeply absorb 20 books than skim 100. Quality reading creates real change.
Accountability is Respect
Holding you accountable means we take your goals seriously. That’s a sign of respect, not pressure.
Outcomes, Not Features
We don’t ship features to pad a changelog. Every feature must measurably increase books completed.
Institutional Rigor
Our systems are modeled on Ivy League academic structures. Structure works. We don’t reinvent the wheel.
Privacy as Default
Your reading habits are private. We never sell data. Your library is yours.
Radical Transparency
Clear pricing. No hidden fees. 30-day refund. We earn trust by being upfront about everything.
Our Team
Small team. Big readers. Every person here was an IvyReader member before joining the team.
